This elaborate basement spa was an afterthought. We had renovated and restored the rest of the elaborate Victorian house and were just wrapping up when the owner asked if we could do a "spa" in the basement. The eventual design required us to lower the basement floor by 6 feet, no small feat given all the new work above it. The Spa includes a hot tub with waterfall, cold plunge pool, "chill-out room" exercise room, and a bathroom.
